The Hudson Creamery, Peekskill
The Scoop: There's an old fashion soda shop feel to the Creamery where 30 flavors of Jane's Handmade ice cream are scooped out daily -- think Apricot Orange Blossom, Pomegranate Swirl, Strawberry Balsamic, and Salty Caramel Pretzel. There are also15 signature sundaes.
Mostly, the place is about community. Customers will find a nod to the City of Peekskill with memorabilia displayed in the shop as well as wares from fellow Peekskill businesses. There's coffee from The Peekskill Coffee House, baked goods from Homestyle Bakery and local honey from Montrose and maple syrup from Garrison. The Creamery also gives a percentage of its revenue to The Wonder Twins Fund that supports the NICU at The Maria Fareri Children's Hospital.
