PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- The Field Library in Peekskill will hold a launch party for local author Ted Kelsey's new book “Shasha and Wally Watson vs. the Faker" on Tuesday, March 22.

"Shasha and Wally Watson vs. the Faker" is a mystery novel for children ages 8 and up. It's the story of a young detective who uses her brother’s special brain to take on The Faker and save a missing girl.

Kelsey will read from his book and play a detective game with the audience. He will discuss his creative writing process and offer advice and inspiration to aspiring writers, both young and old.

All school-age children and adults are invited to the event. At the end of the program, Kelsey will be available to autograph books, which will be available for purchase at the event.

Kelsey is the author of "Olga," which was named 2015 Novel of the Year by Underground Book Review (UBR). UBR’s managing editor described this mystery as “so full of imagination and character that it was impossible to put down.”

"Olga," which was illustrated by Dillon Samuelson, also received a 2015 Award for Excellence in Independent Publishing from New Apple Literary, and was a Book Readers Appreciation Group Medal Honoree Book.
