On Tuesday, Google hosted a workshop for local business owners at Dramatic Hall in the Peekskill Central Market to teach them how to get on Google Search and Maps and help to promote their business with a free website and advertising.
According to Google, four in five consumers use search engines to find information about local businesses, but 47 percent of US small businesses don’t have a website and only 37 percent have claimed or updated their business information on a search engine.
“Small businesses that take full advantage of the Internet are three times more likely to create new jobs and experience revenue growth that’s nearly four times as high as the previous year," said Carley Graham Garcia, Head of New York External Affairs for Google.
