Lane Closure To Affect Section Of Roadway In Hudson Valley
Commuters are being warned that an upcoming lane closure is planned for a section of a busy road in Northern Westchester. On Thursday, Nov. 3, and Friday, Nov. 4 between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., one lane of US Route 9 northbound will close in Peekskill between Welcher Avenue and Louisa Street, according to the New York Department of Transportation. The lane closure is to allow for construction work on the roadway, officials said.

Road Rage: Arrest Made In Hudson Valley After Man Fires Shots, Police Say
A man who took out a high-powered rifle and fired shots at another driver during a road-rage incident in Northern Westchester has been apprehended, police announced. Officers responded to a stretch of Route 9 in Peekskill near the intersection of Welcher Avenue at approximately 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22, where there was a report of a road-rage incident between two vehicles that resulted in shots being fired. Black Bear Spotted On Busy Roadway In Hudson Valley
Some Northern Westchester residents welcomed an unexpected visitor to the neighborhood when a black bear was spotted making the rounds in the area. The Peekskill Police Department issued an alert that there was a reported black bear sighting this week in the area of Welcher Avenue and Washington Street. While taking in the sights, the bear did not approach anyone or cause any disturbances.
