Community Rallies To Support Family Of HS Student Killed In Rockland Crash A community is coming out to support the family of a teen who was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the Hudson Valley. Suffern High School sophomore Jacqueline Zangrilli, age 16, died around 2:50 a.m., on Saturday, April 24, when the vehicle she was riding in struck a utility pole, according to the Ramapo Police. Following Zangrilli's death, a GoFundMe was set up to assist the family with funeral expenses. "Jacqueline was special in so many ways," said the GoFundMe. Ramapo Police Department Mourns Death Of Retired Lieutenant The Ramapo Police Department is mourning the loss of one of its retired lieutenants. Lieutenant William Starkey passed away on Thursday, April 8, surrounded by his daughters and wife. He was 82 years old.  Starkey, a Spring Valley native, served with the department from December of 1966 to January of 2006.  "Bill is credited with developing our Firearms Training Unit," the department said. Longtime Rockland County Police Lieutenant Dies Suddenly A longtime Rockland County police lieutenant has died unexpectedly. The Suffern Police Department announced the death of Lieutenant John Mallon on Thursday, Feb. 18.
