First responders responded to Pinebrook Road in Chestnut Ridge shortly before 2 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19, where there was a report of a one-vehicle crash and subsequent car fire, police said. Video: Woman Escapes Injury After Flames Explode From Car In Area Things got dangerous for a driver who received a shock when her car suddenly burst in flames in Orange County. The woman driving on Clove Road just off of Route 208 in South Blooming Grove told officials that she smelled smoke shortly after making the turn onto the roadway shortly after 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22. Her Toyota Camry then proceeded to stall out and flames burst through the hood of the car. The woman was able to escape the blaze unscathed, and firefighters were called to the scene.
