Area Man Electrocuted While Removing Tree Leaves Behind Wife, Two Kids A 39-year-old man who was electrocuted while removing a tree after hitting a live power line earlier this week leaves behind a wife and two children. John B. Nuzzolo, of Newburgh, died Monday around 9:17 a.m.while removing the tree at 29 Maple Road, in Cornwall-on-Hudson. He was an employee of the MTA, and the Long Island Railroad, and was a former member of Local 38. Nuzzolo is survived by his wife Syndi and his two children Aryanna and John. He was predeceased by his parents John and Bernice. Visitation will be held at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, on Friday, Sept, 7, from 2 p.m. …

Bergen County DPW Worker Killed In Saddle River Tree Removal Operation Identified A Bergen County DPW worker who killed during a tree removal operation in Saddle River Thursday has been identified by county officials. Thomas Epper, 48, was a two-year heavy equipment operator in the Bergen County DPW, County Executive James Tedesco announced. He was transported fatally injured while performing a routine tree-clearing in Saddle River, Tedesco said. "The Bergen County family mourns with the Epper family," he said in a release.  "I want to thank the first responders for their heroic actions together with the work crew that was present at the time." Road Closed In Ramapo During Tree Removal Road Closed In Ramapo During Tree Removal
Road Closed In Ramapo During Tree Removal Motorists traveling through Ramapo have been advised to avoid Montebello Road as crews continue cleaning up the area following the weekend Nor’easter. The Ramapo Police Department issued an alert cautioning that Montebello Road will be closed from Mile Road to North Airmont Road on Tuesday as crews complete tree removal in the area in advance of a second winter storm. Police said the roadway is expected to be closed until approximately 5 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon. Motorists have been advised to seek alternate routes, if possible.
