Entergy Reaches Deal With Union On Indian Point Contract A possible strike by workers at the Indian Point nuclear power plant in Northern Westchester has been averted. Entergy announced early Wednesday morning that it has reached an agreement with the Utility Workers Union of America Local 1-2 on a new four-year contract for the union’s approximately 330 workers at the Indian Point Energy Center in Buchanan. Indian Point now has a total of nearly 1,000 employees. Indian Point Employees Ready To Strike BUCHANAN, N.Y. --  The union that represents employees of Indian Point Entergy Center in Buchanan said they are prepared to go on strike if negotiations with Entergy, which runs the plant, go nowhere. "If there is a strike...it will be only because Entergy does not appear to be making the same effort at the bargaining table," James Slevin, the Local 1-2 President said Wednesday.
