Hurricane Ida Barrels Toward Gulf: Here's How Much Rainfall Storm Could Bring To Northeast
Hurricane Ida is heading toward the United States coast, picking up strength as it moves over warm waters surrounding Cuba, with the potential to be a Category 4 storm when it makes landfall late in the weekend. The storm's long-term track takes it north and then east, with a possible impact on the Northeast in the middle of next week. Ida, the ninth-named storm of the 2021 Atlantic season, is expected to intensify further Saturday, Aug. 28 into Sunday, Aug. 29, with projected winds of 100 to 110 miles per hour or more just south of the mouth of the Mississippi River. Here's When Tropical Storm Elsa Could Affect Region
Tropical Storm Elsa could affect this region late this week as it treks up the East Coast after it's expected to make landfall in Florida. At 8 a.m. Monday, July 5, the center of Elsa was located about 165 miles southeast of Havana, Cuba. It's expected to take a turn toward the northwest as it moves through Florida Tuesday, July 6 into Wednesday, July 7 with landfall expected north of Tampa Bay, AccuWeather said.
