Willow Grove Elementary School on Storrs Road was closed on Tuesday, Jan. 22 due to a water main break, the Northern Rockland School District announced. Officials said a pipe burst leading up to the water meter outside the school on Storrs Road, prompting the closure. Instead of reporting to Willow Grove, students were told to report to the Fieldstone Middle School on Fieldstone Drive in Thiells for classes. The cause of the break has not been disclosed. Police Investigate Report Of Men With Rifles Near Rockland School A report of four men walking near an elementary school in possession of rifles drew immediate response late Friday morning from multiple police agencies in Rockland County. The 11:40 a.m. report said the four were walking near the Willow Grove Elementary School in Thiells. Haverstraw Town Police responded to Willow Grove Elementary, the nearby Fieldstone Middle School and the surrounding area. Both schools initiated their lockdown procedures.
