The latest confirmed positive COVID-19 case in a Westchester school district has forced nearly two dozen students and staffers into a temporary quarantine. New Rochelle interim Schools Superintendent Alex Marrero issued an alert to the community late on Monday, Nov. 16 regarding the latest positive case in the district, this time in a student at George M. Five new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in three Westchester schools. Interim New Rochelle Schools Superintendent Alex Marrero said that two students at Henry Barnard Early Childhood Center have tested positive for the virus, as has a second student at Columbus Elementary School and a classroom aide at Columbus. Students and staffers in a Westchester school have been instructed to stay home after receiving a newly confirmed COVID-19 case. Four dozen students and staffers in a Westchester school will enter a two-week quarantine after potentially being exposed to COVID-19 last week. A Westchester middle school was forced to transition to remove learning after as many as five classes may have been exposed to the virus last week. One day after welcoming students back to some school buildings, a school district in Westchester is facing its first COVID-19 crisis.
