ORANGETOWN, N.Y. – Orangetown police said they chased down a Tappan man who tried breaking into a victim’s house by stabbing the front window with a large knife.
Officers responding to the call just before 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in Sparkill discovered that shards of window glass had cut the victim’s face, Lt. Michael Shannon said Friday.
They quickly arrested 28-year-old Alex Izar, whom Shannon said had fled in a car.
A judge ordered Izar held on $50,000 bail in the Rockland County Jail pending a first appearance in Orangetown Justice Court this Monday on charges of burglary, attempted assault, menacing and various weapons possession counts.
