Woman Almost Hits Orangetown Officers While Driving Drunk, Police Say

ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- A Lyndhurst, N.J. woman almost hit several Orangetown officers before she was stopped on Friday, Nov. 4, for driving while intoxicated on Main Street in Nyack.

Orangetown officers spotted Sigrid Torres, 33, while on foot patrol around 2:30 a.m. on Main Street when she came barreling down the road at a high rate of speed, almost striking the officers, police said.

Officers managed to stop her on Main Street and noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from her breath and bloodshot eyes during their investigation, police said.

Torres was arrested and taken to the police department where she failed a blood alcohol content test. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and released. 

She is due to appear on Nov. 29 in Nyack Justice Court.
