Valley Cottage Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Pearl River Crash

Police in Orangetown are investigating a motorcycle crash that left a 61-year-old Rockland County man with “serious physical injury.”

At approximately 4:12 a.m. on Wednesday morning, members of the Orangetown Police Department were dispatched to a stretch of Old Middletown Road in Pearl River, where there were reports of a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcyclist.

According to police, the crash involved Valley Cottage resident James Hawley, who lost control of his motorcycle, causing him to become detached from his vehicle, leaving him with grievous injuries.

On Thursday morning, the motorcyclist's condition was not immediately available.

The Orangetown Police Department Accident Investigation Team is currently conducting an investigation into the incident. The investigation is expected to last several days and may cause temporary traffic issues in the area.
