NYACK, N.Y. -- The leader of the Brinks robbery in 1981 that killed two Nyack police officers and a Brinks guard could be let out of prison after serving just half his 60-year prison term, according to lohud.com, which had earlier reported that Mutulu Shakur had been released from jail, before amending its report.

Mutulu Shakur is serving at the high-security penitentiary in Victorville, Calif., on Wednesday, according to the prison website.
