Two Charged With Breaking Windows At Businesses In Nyack

NYACK, N.Y. -- Two men were arrested over the weekend in separate incidents in Nyack by Orangetown police for breaking windows at local businesses, police said.

On Friday, an unidentified 18-year-old from Franklin Square was charged with criminal mischief after police saw him throw a rock through the store window on High Avenue, police said.

The officer stopped the man and arrested him at the scene. He was released after posting bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 30, police said.

On Sunday, Orangetown police responded to a call of a man striking a window and breaking it around 2:30 a.m. at 78 Burd St., at the Burd Cafe, in Nyack, police said.

Officers arrested John Pedrosa, 26, of Newburgh who was charged with criminal mischief and released on bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 21.
