Speeding Driver From Danbury Nabbed For Pot, Drug Paraphernalia

A 24-year-old man was arrested for alleged possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop for speeding.

Charles Anthony Nunez-Rivera, of Danbury, was arrested on Saturday, Oct. 26, after being stopped in his 2012 BMW X5 for driving 55 mph in a 40 mph zone, said the Wilton Police.

During the stop, officers noticed an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle uncovered marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police said. 

Nunez-Rivera was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession greater than a half-ounce, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving too fast.

He was released and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 6.
