Man Chokes Woman In Dispute At Nyack Hotel, Police Say

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. --  A 27-year-old man is behind bars after choking a woman at a Nyack hotel, police said.

Andy Azard-Adams of Coral Spring, Fla., was arrested after Orangetown Police responded to the West Gate Hotel on Route 59 in Nyack for a possible dispute, Sgt. Kirk Vega said.

When officers arrived on scene they found Azard-Adams and a woman had gotten into an argument where he choked her, causing bruising to her neck, Vega said.

Azard-Adams originally provided officers with the name and address of one of his relatives. When officers discovered his real identity, they found that he was also wanted on a warrant from Broward County, Fla., police said.

He was charged with obstruction of breathing, criminal impersonation, harassment and being a fugitive from justice. 

Azard-Adams is being held at the Rockland County Jail.
