ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- Orangetown Police announced the arrest of Joseph F. Williams, 38, of New City charging him with third-degree rape in an alleged March 4 incident in which he is accused of sexually assaulting a minor female, said police.
The arrest followed a joint investigation by Orangetown and Ramapo police detectives, police said. Orangetown detectives were advised by Ramapo detectives of the alleged assault, according to police.
Williams is accused of having intercourse with the minor female while parked on a street in Orangetown, police said.
He was processed at Orangetown police headquarters and arraigned in Orangetown Justice Court where his bail was set at $25,000, according to police.
Williams remains in Rockland County Jail, police said.
