Man, 25, Faces DWI Charges After Orangetown Stop, Police Say

ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- A New Jersey man faces drunk driving charges after he struck a parked car and a mailbox on Route 340 in Orangetown, police said.

Alexander Singh, 25, of Dumont, was pulled over by authorities around 1:20 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, and given field sobriety tests, which he failed, police said.

Singh was taken to police headquarters where he was given a Breathalyzer test, which he also failed, police said.

He was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, police said.

Singh was released to a family member after a $100 bond was posted, police said.

He is due to appear in court on Wednesday, Feb. 10, police said.
