Two occupants were taken by ambulance to nearby Palisades General Hospital with what a police captain at the scene said weren’t life-threatening injuries.

“Could be a broken leg or other broken bones,” the captain said, amid the debris left from the crash.

The white Lexus apparently jumped the curb around 3 p.m. as it reached a gentle curve in the road just north of the Riverwalk complex that houses Starbucks and A&P.

After ramming the fire hydrant into the street, the car narrowly missed a sign post before ripping off the top of the Port Imperial complex sign.

Police and firefighters from North Hudson were at the scene quickly and hustled the two occupants into separate ambulances. Meanwhile, traffic was narrowed to one lane in both directions, causing backups on either side.
