Louis Worby, 96, Of Pomona

POMONA, N.Y. -- Louis Worby of Pomona, a World War II veteran, small-business owner and defender of civil rights, died Monday, Feb.1, at age 96, according to a report in lohud.com.

Worby fought in the Pacific theater with the 111th Infantry during the Second World War, reaching the rank of first lieutenant and receiving the Bronze Star, reports lohud.com.

He was also the co-owner of Hold-All Manufacturing Co., which produced small hardware and household items. The business was started in Spring Valley in 1964 and later relocated to Suffern, according to lohud.com.

Survivors include his wife, Diana; and his children, Rachael, David, and Joshua, reports lohud.com.
