PEARL RIVER, N.Y. – James J. Doherty, a resident of Pearl River, died Monday, July 25.
Born in the Bronx, N.Y., he worked for the New York City Department of Education Local 891 as a custodial engineer. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, AOH, American Legion 1088, The Pearl River Seniors A and the St. Anthony's Seniors.
He is survived by his wife Rosemary; sons James (Kathlen) and John (Patty); three grandchildren, Jack, Brendan and Ryan; sister Peggy Touhy; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Kay McCarthy, Lawrence, Charles, Johnny and Anna Willock.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to St. Margaret's Church.
