PEARL RIVER, N.Y. -- Catherine Canavan, of Warminster, Pa. and formerly of Pearl River, died Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, Pa. She was 93.
Though retired for many years, Canavan worked as an executive secretary for some of the premier automotive companies in the United States.
She was born Sept. 21, 1922, in New York City to Nicola and Concetta Farinella. On April 27, 1946, she married Robert V. Canavan at St. Raymond’s Church in the Bronx. She resided in Pearl River from 1953 until 2008.
She is survived by her son, Tom Canavan of River Vale, N.J.; and grandson, Evan.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert V. Canavan (2004), son James P. Canavan (2004) and grandson, Christopher (2015).
