ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- The Rockland County Highway Department's new substation has opened to reduce travel time for plow trucks during winter storms, according to lohud.com.

Dubbed the "Southern Depot," the $500,000, 40-by-60-square-foot garage at 175 Hunt Road has already cut response times by 45 minutes, reported lohud.

Secondary Orangetown routes such as the four-mile stretch from Greenbush Road to Clausland Mountain Road to Tweed Boulevard are reportedly some of the trickiest in Rockland County, said lohud.
