ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Cashless tolling is likely coming to the Tappan Zee Bridge in April, according to a story on lohud.com.
Drivers crossing the bridge from Rockland will either pay immediately via their E-ZPass account or later when a monthly bill arrives in the mail. Cameras mounted on a steel frame above the southbound Thruway in South Nyack will keep tabs by taking photographs of vehicles' license plates, lohud.com said.
There are currently no stringent penalties in New York for toll evaders, lohud.com said.
