BLAUVELT, N. Y. -- Several neighbors say they are glad to see that joining forces about bad odors from a Blauvelt manufacturing plant is leading to progress in clearing the air, according to lohud.com.
Orangetown officials have started logging complaints and have even brought Aluf Plastics officials to court to help resolve odor problems. Residents, who have formed the Facebook group, Clean Air for Orangetown, have been pushing for a resolution since the plant is close to houses and school, lohud.com reports.
Orangetown officials say they've started a process for requiring the company to meet certain standards at the plant, off Route 303. Aluf officials did not respond to lohud.com requests for comments.
