Rafter Who Drowned In Delaware River In Region ID'd This story has been updated.  A 37-year-old man drowned while rafting in the Delaware River near the New York border. The incident occurred in Pike County in Shohola, Pennsylvania, around 12:45 p.m., Sunday, July 7, near Sullivan and Orange counties in New York. Hudson Valley Man Found Dead After Disappearing A Hudson Valley man was found dead after disappearing from his campsite at the edge of the Delaware River. The incident took place in Sullivan County on Saturday, May 13, at the Ascalona Campground in Barryville.  Deputies responded to the campground on a report of a missing person, said Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty.
