Longtime Officer Promoted Chief Of Town of Poughkeepsie Police Longtime Town of Poughkeepsie Police Capt. Kevin P. Faber has been promoted to police chief. Faber joined the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department in 1991, bringing with him a background in engineering and mathematics, said Capt. Michael O'Dowd. He succeeds Ronald J. Spero, Jr., who was chief from May 20, 2015, to Aug. 30. Town Of Poughkeepsie Captain Graduates From FBI Academy Town of Poughkeepsie Capt. Kevin Faber recently graduated from the FBI National Academy's 270th session, according to Chief Ronald J. Spero. The 11-week session included 222 law enforcement executives from 49 states, 20 countries, three military organizations, and four federal civil organizations.
