Snow Arrives in North Salem

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - Snow has arrived in North Salem with even more predicted to be on the way. Several inches of snow had fallen by 8 a.m. Saturday and the National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory, predicting additional snowfall accumulation of four to six inches.

The heaviest snow is expected to fall in the morning hours, with a rate of about one inch per hour. The service predicts that snow fall will lighten up by noon Saturday and the storm will subside by 4 p.m.

As of 8 a.m. roads in North Salem had not yet been plowed, salted or sanded, but traffic is moving along the main roads.

The Ruth Keeler Memorial Library will be closed on Saturday due to weather conditions. All library events for Saturday will be postponed.

No power outages have been reported.
