A threat described by district officials as being "specific" has prompted a school district in Westchester to switch to remote learning on Friday, Dec. 17. Nearly 150 students and staff members at a Westchester high school have been instructed to quarantine after a student tested positive for COVID-19 and may have exposed them to the virus. New Rochelle interim Schools Superintendent Alex Marrero issued a notice to the community late on Tuesday, Nov. 17 advising that a student at New Rochelle High School tested positive for COVID-19. 19: One Westchester School District To Begin Academic Year Remotely
When the school year begins, New Rochelle students will be doing so remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. New Rochelle Schools Superintendent Laura Feijóo announced on Thursday, Aug. 13 that the district consulted with state health officials and determined classes will be held virtually through at least the month of September.
