Police in Northern Westchester are investigating a spate of overnight vehicle break-ins that resulted in personal items being stolen from unlocked cars. The break-ins happened in Yorktown during the overnight hours of Saturday, July 15 into Sunday morning, July 16, according to Yorktown Police. A man who was a suspect in a series of vehicle break-ins was nabbed by police after he was allegedly caught breaking into an area home. Jonathan Martin, 27, of Sleepy Hollow, was arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 17, after Tarrytown Police spotted him acting suspiciously in the area of South Broadway, said Tarrytown Police Lt. Greg Budnar. Police investigators have apprehended a man who was busted breaking into cars overnight in Westchester. The Yonkers Police Department announced that city resident Hector Hernandez was arrested early on Monday, Aug. 26, after being busted in the area of McLean Avenue attempting to rummage through unlocked cars in the area. A 25-year-old man was taken into police custody after going on a crime spree and breaking into multiple cars in Westchester. Police investigators in Brookfield are cautioning local residents to be more vigilant in locking their car doors overnight following a recent rash of break-ins of unlocked vehicles.
