Mt. Kisco's Carol Gillian Barnes, 78, Loved To Sketch The Nature Around Her Carol Gillian Barnes—beloved sister, caring aunt, and gifted artist whose sweet and gentle presence graced those around her—died on January 10, 2022. She was 78 years old. Carol was born on July 27, 1943 on the island of Kauai, then a United States territory. Her early years were idyllic, living amid lush gardens, swimming at the beach down the street, sliding down moss-covered rocks into waterfall pools, and riding horses. Perhaps first inspired by her beautiful surroundings, Carol began drawing at the age of two. She drew so frequently that her parents bought her a sketch pad when she …

Mount Kisco's Brenda Barnes, Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Longtime Laerdal Medical Employee, 80 Longtime Mount Kisco resident Brenda Elizabeth Barnes — a loving mother and grandmother, cherished sister and beloved aunt who savored the arts, culture and literature and whose experiences across the globe gave her a gracious wisdom and sense of humor — died on Sunday, Jan. 26. She was 80. Brenda was born on June 2, 1939, one of the first to be born at Wilcox Memorial Hospital in Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii, in what was then a territory of the United States.  She lived in Kealia, Kauai with her parents and sisters, attending Kauai’s Kapaa Schools and later Punahou High School on Oahu until …
