Woman's Body Found Floating In Hudson River A woman's body was discovered floating in the Hudson River. The unidentified woman was found in Dutchess County around 10 a.m., Monday, April 10 near the Mid-Hudson Bridge and the city of Poughkeepsie. Sheriff's deputies responded to the area after receiving a report of a possible body in the river near the Mid-Hudson Bridge, said Capt. John Watterson, of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office. Authorities Ask For Help Identifying Man Found Dead In Wooden Chest In Westchester Authorities in Westchester County are asking the public for help identifying a man whose body was found in a wooden chest on the side of the Saw Mill River Parkway more than four decades ago. The man's body was discovered in Hastings-on-Hudson at 10:15 a.m. on April 23, 1978, by a driver traveling north on the parkway, according to the Westchester County District Attorney's Office. The driver pulled over after seeing a cedar chest on the side of the road and found that the chest was nailed shut. He opened the chest with a tire iron and found the man's body inside.
