Truck Goes Up In Flames On Busy Main Road In Westchester: Video Firefighters have released details about a truck fire that filled a busy main route in Westchester with smoke. The incident happened on Wednesday, Jan. 24, when a truck caught on fire on Boston Post Road (Route 1) at Hommocks Road in Mamaroneck, according to the town's fire department.  Luckily, the blaze was quickly put out thanks to the help of a mutual aid engine from the Village of Mamaroneck Fire Department.  Firefighters later released a video of the fire on social media. Quick-Thinking Fire Chief Uses Fork-Lift To Save Danbury Business A quick-thinking off-duty assistant fire chief saved a fire from happening in the loading dock of a Fairfield County business when a fire started in the engine of a pickup truck. The incident began around 7:46 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 27, when a 911 call was received by the Danbury Fire Department that a truck was on fire in the load dock area of Omaha Beef on Maple Avenue in Danbury, said James Gagliardo, communications director.
