Man Dies After Tractor Trailer Strikes Him On Side Of Westchester Highway: Police A man was killed after he was hit by a tractor-trailer while standing by his disabled truck on the side of a Westchester County highway, police said.  The crash happened on Tuesday, Dec. 27 around 4:15 a.m., when police responded to I-287 and the I-95 ramps in Rye for a reported accident between a box truck and tractor-trailer, according to state police.  Police determined that Levittown, Pennsylvania resident Kevin Roman, age 26, had been driving a tractor-trailer east on I-287 when he left the lane and hit a box truck that was disabled on the shoulder of the highway.  …

20-Year-Old From Danbury Killed In I-84 Crash A 20-year-old was killed after slamming into the back of a tractor-trailer on a busy Connecticut roadway, police said. The crash took place in New Haven County around 8:30 p.m. near Exit 23 on I-84 in Waterbury. According to state police, both vehicles were traveling westbound when a Chevrolet Silverado driven by Fairfield County resident Zachary James Carlson, of Danbury, failed to slow down due to traffic and struck the rear of the tractor-trailer. Person Struck By Tractor-Trailer On I-84 A pedestrian was hit by a tractor-trailer and seriously injured on I-84 in Fairfield County. Connecticut State Police said the incident took place around 3:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 25 near Exit 11 in Newtown. Responding troopers said the person was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The roadway was closed for several hours, backing up traffic for at least eight miles, before reopening later on Monday morning. The extent of injuries was not immediately provided.
