A Northern Westchester man faces larceny charges after allegedly stealing an antique firearm from a military expo event in the Hudson Valley, police said. The arrest stemmed from an incident in Putnam County on Saturday, April 22 around 2:30 p.m., when a sheriff's deputy was sent to the Patterson Recreation Center at 65 Front St. for a larceny complaint. A Hudson Valley man is charged with trying to sneak illegal substances into a prison during a visit, police said. On Monday, Oct. 31, 32-year-old Rockland County resident Joseph Garguilo III of Clarkstown brought a controlled substance into the Putnam County Correctional Facility in Carmel during a visit, according to Putnam County Sheriff Kevin McConville. A man and woman are facing charges after being busted by prevention personnel attempting to shoplift merchandise from a Putnam County grocery store, officials said. Putnam County Sheriff Capt. Lisa Ortolano announced the arrests of Wingdale residents Matthew Sehrt, 28 and Cynthia Gilroy, 27, who were caught red-handed attempting to steal merchandise from ShopRite on Route 52 in Carmel. A 49-year-old man is facing drug charges after being busted by a Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputy during a traffic stop for not wearing a seatbelt. While on patrol on Route 52 in Carmel, Deputy Sheriff Christopher Irwin spotted a black pickup truck being driven by Dover, Vt. resident Kevin Dancy, who was not wearing his seatbelt.
