DWI Patrols Will Be Ramped Up In Putnam Over Holiday Weekend, Sheriff Says With Memorial Day Weekend and the unofficial start of the summer driving season here, local and county police in Putnam County are teaming up in an effort to curtail impaired drivers in the region. Beginning on Friday, May 25, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, Town of Carmel Police Department and Kent Police Department will be participating in a special enforcement detail targeting drunk or impaired drivers.
