Gas Prices Hit New Record High In New York Amid Surge In Oil Costs
There is no relief in sight for motorists in New York as prices at the pump continue to rise to new record highs, according to AAA.
As of Monday, May 16, AAA was reporting that the average price per gallon has risen to $4.76 in New York, setting another new record after peaking at $4.52 a week prior, the previous high.
Diesel gas is also on the rise, up to $6.50 as of Sunday, May 15, also a new record in New York.
According to AAA, there is not expected to be any relief for drivers with Memorial Day and the busy summer driving season fast approaching.

Gas Prices In New York Reach Record High, AAA Says
Gas prices in New York have reached a new record high as the country deals with rising oil prices and nationwide inflation amid tensions overseas.
On Monday, May 9, AAA was reporting that the average price per regular gallon of gas in New York has hit $4.52, the highest recorded average price in history.
Likewise, truck drivers are also seeking relief at the pump, as the price of diesel fuel price also set a record on May 9 when it hit $6.38 per gallon.
In New York, the price per gallon is up 17 cents from a week ago, 28 cents from a month ago, and $1.51 from May 9, 2021.

With price gougers capitalizing on the public’s heightened coronavirus concerns, New York has introduced its own hand sanitizer.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo introduced “NYS Clean,” during a news conference on Monday, March 9 in Albany.
He said the product, made by state prisoners, will be provided to schools, nursing homes, prisons, municipalities, and other potential COVID-19 hotspots, with one of the first shipments being delivered to New Rochelle.
