Covid-19: Here Are New Activities, Low-Risk Businesses Restarting This Week Downstate While some regions will begin reopening their economies in New York this week, some limited activities and recreation options will be permitted downstate, where the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is still prevalent. Upstate Mother Used Kitchen Knife To Sever 7-Year-Old Son's Head A woman is facing a murder charge after allegedly using a “large-bladed kitchen knife” to decapitate her 7-year-old son in an upstate home, according to multiple reports. Deputies from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office arrested Sweden resident Hanane Mouhib, 36, on Thursday after she allegedly severed the head of Abraham Cardenas, whose body was found on Thursday night. According to the felony complaint, Mouhib is accused of decapitating the boy with a knife after allegedly stabbing him in the back.
