Authorities in Westchester are continuing their search for an unattended vehicle that was stolen while it had the owner's dog inside. In an announcement on Tuesday, Feb. 20, the Mount Vernon Police Department said they are still on the lookout for a 2004 Honda Pilot with New Jersey license plate K47SSE that was taken from the 200 block of West 1st Street on Sunday, Jan. 7. Three people were arrested in connection with a scheme that involved the theft of a victim's French bulldog in Westchester, police said. The events leading up to the arrests began when a Yonkers resident's French bulldog was stolen in a burglary committed by a former friend, Yonkers Police announced on Thursday, Nov. 30. Police are asking for help locating a dog that was stolen during a home burglary in Fairfield County. The incident took place on Thursday, March 25 in Danbury, in the area of Mill Ridge Road. During the burglary, a 1-year-old American Bully named "Godiva" was stolen, Danbury Police said. A Northern Westchester dog owner is offering a $5,000 reward after his “beloved” pooch was stolen out of his car on Valentine’s Day. Fliers have been distributed in the area by a Bedford man whose dog was stolen from his car while it was parked in a Scarsdale shopping center.
