School Bus Catches On Fire In Westchester With Driver Aboard Firefighters rushed to extinguish an afternoon school bus fire in Westchester. The incident happened in Yonkers on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at around 4:15 p.m. in the area of 582 Mile Square Rd., according to Yonkers Police Sgt. Robert Spink. No children were on the bus at the time, but the driver and bus monitor were. They both got off and called 911, Spink said.  Firefighters then responded to the scene. The fire is reported to be electrical and engine-related in nature.  This is a developing story. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.

Police Investigating Smash-Grab Incident At Westchester Jewelry Store Police in Westchester County are searching for a group of smash-and-grab thieves who allegedly targeted a jewelry store. The incident took in Yonkers on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at a jewelry store on Central Avenue. According to Yonkers Police, the group may be connected to a similar incident in a jurisdiction north of Yonkers.  A Westchester County Police unit spotted two suspect vehicles in the area of Central Park Avenue and Mile Square Road and attempted to stop the vehicle, which fled, with one crashing on Staunton St., Yonkers Police said. 15 Area Residents Charged With DWI In State Police Stops New York State Police troopers busted more than a dozen Hudson Valley motorists for allegedly driving while drunk on area roadways. Among those charged include:  Westchester County On Saturday, Sept., 28, State Police from Brewster arrested Jason M. Curnen, 26, of Bedford, for Aggravated DWI. He was traveling on I-684 in the town of Southeast, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law.
