Former Corrections Officer Sentenced For Sexually Abusing Danbury Inmate A former correctional officer in Fairfield County will spend time behind bars after being sentenced for sexually abusing an inmate. Carlos Sanchez, formerly of Middlebury, was sentenced in Bridgeport district court to a term of 10 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release after pleading guilty to one count of sexual abuse of a ward late last year. U.S. Attorney John Durham said that Sanchez, 33, a former correctional officer at the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury engaged in sexual activity with a female inmate at the prison.
