A school district in Westchester has announced that a retired former superintendent with over 40 years of experience will be filling in for its current leader, who is out on medical leave. A longtime educator in Northern Westchester announced she will be stepping down at the end of the year after a four-decade career in education. Pleasantville Union Free School District Superintendent Mary Fox-Alter announced this week that she will be retiring at the end of the calendar year in December following a 40-year career, 31 of which were spent with the district. Irvington High School Names New Principal
The Irvington Union Free School District Board of Education has officially appointed the new principal of Irvington High School. Juliet Gevargis-Mizimakoski was appointed at the Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, June 18 and will begin her new position in July, according to Kristopher Harrison, Superintendent of Schools.
