Man, Woman Found Dead In Northern Fairfield County Two people found dead inside a vehicle in a Fairfield County pond have been identified by police. The two were found in the pond in Easton on Stepney Road near Church Road inside a 1995 Jeep Cherokee which was partially submerged in water and tipping to the driver's side. During an investigation, Easton Police and Fire personnel found two occupants in the vehicle who were pronounced dead on the scene, said Easton Police Chief Richard Doyle. Photos: Deer Makes Itself Right At Home For Thanksgiving In Area Police had to take care of a breaking and entering case on Thanksgiving Day in Fairfield County, but it was quickly solved. A deer jumped through a large picture window of an Easton home on the morning of Thursday, Nov. 28. Once inside, the deer couldn't seem to find its way back out and wandered around the home since no one was on hand to offer some help.  After wandering around inside the house for about a half-hour, the deer was able to be shooed back outside by officers. Luckily, the deer didn't do much damage and was not injured.

Beginning in October last year, Marvin Williams, Nicholas Dixon, Jason Higney, Besar Ismaili, Steven Klein, Lashaumba Randolph and Abdurahamin Shabazz allegedly operated the stolen car ring. Fairfield County Areas Near North Salem Tops In State For Bear Sightings Once a rare sight, the black bear is making a comeback in Fairfield County -- and statewide. The Connecticut State Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) reported that a total of 7,493 black bear sightings have been reported in Connecticut in the past year, from Aug. 10, 2017 to Aug. 5 of this year, including hundreds in Fairfield County. But then again, considering the way this winter has gone, maybe not. The Nor'easter that moved through the area overnight Monday into Tuesday did result in bands of heavy snow -- and in some parts of the area, significant accumulation.
