A 37-year-old man faces a felony charge after allegedly burglarizing a Northern Westchester home, police announced.
Peekskill resident Kevin Powell was arrested on Thursday, June 20 in connection with an incident in Cortlandt on Tuesday, June 18, New York State Police announced on Wednesday, June 26.
According to police, on the day of the incident, troopers responded to a domestic dispute at a Cortlandt home. Authorities then discovered that Powell was not welcome at the residence, which was not his, and had entered an outbuilding to try to steal property, police said.

A Hudson Valley man is behind bars after allegedly killing his wife during a domestic dispute.
Rockland County resident Warle Fernandez-Arias, age 37, was charged with second-degree murder on Friday, Feb. 23 in Spring Valley after his wife, Carolyn Canela, age 36, was found dead.
According to Spring Valley Police, Canela, who moved to the US from Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, was found when officers responded to a welfare check at 149 Sneden Place West at their Hillcrest Point apartment.

A man has been sentenced after he pleaded guilty to setting fire to an apartment where he and his girlfriend lived.
Larry Hickmon, age 30, of Middletown, was sentenced on Thursday, March 24, to 18 years in state prison and five years of post-release supervision, according to Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler.
Hickmon pleaded guilty to second-degree arson on Thursday, Jan. 27, in connection with the May 17 fire at an apartment complex on Concord Lane in Middletown.

Stephen J. Brind, 75, of Rhinebeck, was arrested around 5:20 p.m., Sunday, April 26, after New York State Police received a call for a domestic dispute, said Trooper AJ Hicks.
