New Principal Named At School In Northern Westchester
The search for a new middle school principal in a Northern Westchester district ended up settling on a candidate very close to home. Donald Peters has been named the new principal of Peekskill Middle School, Peekskill City School District Superintendent David Mauricio announced on Wednesday, May 17. Pipes Burst At School In Northern Westchester: Cold Temperatures Cause Flooding
Freezing cold temperatures caused pipes to burst in a Northern Westchester Middle School, which resulted in parts of the building flooding. At around 3 p.m. in the afternoon on Saturday, Feb. 4, a fire suppression sprinkler in the ceiling of a stairwell at Peekskill Middle School froze because of the high wind gusts and cold temperatures, according to a letter sent to parents by Superintendent David Mauricio. Peekskill Appoints New School Superintendent
After an extensive search, the Peekskill Board of Education announced that Dr. David Mauricio has been selected to serve as the district’s next Superintendent of Schools. Mauricio, who is currently serving as the chief of Strategic Alignment and Innovation at Buffalo Schools, was officially appointed on Tuesday, April 10. He will replace Peekskill’s Interim Superintendent, Dr. Mary Keenan Foster and begin his three year contract effective July 1.
