UConn Senior From Fairfield County Killed In Crash A University of Connecticut student from Fairfield County has died from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle rollover crash. The crash happened around 4 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1 in Coventry, Connecticut, about seven miles west of UConn's campus in Storrs. The student has been identified as Cole Montefusco, 21, of Redding, a 2016 graduate of Joel Barlow High School. Montefusco was located on the side of the roadway seriously injured after being ejected from the vehicle during the crash on Boston Turnpike in the area of Lathrop Drive, the Coventry Police Department said. Man Takes State Police On High-Speed I-84 Chase With Flat Tire A man wanted for a domestic violence assault and shooting took Connecticut State Police on a high-speed chase on I-84 at speeds reaching 95 mph with a flat tire for part of the chase. Daniel Ballard, 36, of Coventry, was arrested on numerous charges including reckless driving, reckless endangerment, and engaging police in pursuit, among others following an attack on a woman and her children, according to Coventry Police.
