Longtime Ridgefield Police Chief Dies Days After Retiring

Roche, who started his career as a patrol officer in Ridgefield in 1980, announced his retirement from the force, effective as of Friday, Aug. 24. One of Ridgefield’s “finest” is calling it a career, as Chief John Roche rides off into the retirement sunset following several decades in law enforcement. Afghanistan War Vet Carlos Olivares Joins Ridgefield Police Force
A war veteran who served in Afghanistan has officially joined the ranks of Ridgefield’s finest, being sworn in as the local police department’s latest member. This week, the Ridgefield Police Department welcomed new Officer Carlos Olivares, who was sworn in during a ceremony at police headquarters, he is now set to train at the Connecticut Police Academy for more than six months before returning to protect residents in Ridgefield.
