Putnam Sheriff's Narcotics Enforcement Unit Details Recent Arrests Putnam County Sheriff Robert Langley Jr. announced several arrests that have been made by the Department's Narcotics Enforcement Unit (NEU) in recent weeks.  Among the area residents who were busted for various infractions include:  On Sept. 28, members of the NEU stopped a vehicle for traffic violations, on Route 6, in Carmel. Subsequent to the deputies' traffic stop and interview, the operator of the vehicle, a 31-year-old male, from Hopewell Junction, was found to be in possession of alleged heroin.
